In December 2020, Victor R. approached us to extend his permanent residence permit, which was due to expire in 2021.
The Russian citizen was married to a French woman, which was the basis for obtaining permanent residence. For more than 7 years, the spouses lived in Paris. In 2020, Victor returned home with his wife to work with business partners.
Unfortunately, the spouses did not manage to keep the marriage, it was officially dissolved in the Russian Federation in October 2020.
In Paris, Victor still has an apartment, which he bought while already married. Legally, this property was jointly acquired. However, the client's ex-wife did not have any claims on it, as she would stay in Russia.
It was impossible to extend the French residence permit based on the marriage, as it no longer existed.
We began to collect all the necessary documents to confirm Victor's socialization in society: language skills, contacts of friends in Paris, and utility bills. An important fact was also the availability of one's own home in the country.
The package of documents was also completed with:
The documents were finalized after we made the apostille and official translations.
Victor could not leave Russia until all his affairs were finalized. The application for the extension of his permanent residence permit with all the documents was submitted to the Migration Service in Paris by our lawyer based on a power of attorney from the client.
In April Victor received approval to extend his permanent residence in France. To replace the residence permit card upon his return to the country, he applied to the migration authorities at his place of residence.
We helped the client extend his permanent residence permit in France after losing the main factor based on which the permanent residence permit was initially issued.
