After obtaining a residence permit in Hungary under the “Golden Visa” program, citizenship can be obtained through naturalization after 8 years of continuous residence in the country. To do so, applicants must demonstrate integration into society, proficiency in the Hungarian language, and a clean criminal record. Obtaining citizenship requires a separate procedure and does not occur automatically upon receiving a residence permit.
