- EUR 300,000 in one of four categories
- (A) a new house or apartment from a developer — a first sale, at least EUR 300,000 plus VAT, up to two units for the combined amount; (B) offices, shops, hotels or similar developments worth EUR 300,000, resales included; (C) EUR 300,000 in the share capital of a new or existing Cypriot company with physical premises and at least 5 employees; (D) EUR 300,000 in units of a Cyprus collective investment organisation (AIF, AIFLNP, RAIF) investing in Cyprus.
- Money from abroad
- The investment funds must be transferred to Cyprus from abroad, from the account of the applicant or spouse (or of a company in which they are the sole shareholders) to the seller's account at a Cyprus financial institution. Domestic borrowing is not accepted. For property, the application includes proof of payment of at least EUR 300,000 excluding VAT. From India, the remittance runs through the Liberalised Remittance Scheme, currently USD 250,000 per person per financial year, so the EUR 300,000 is often planned across family members or financial years.
- Annual income
- EUR 50,000 for the applicant plus EUR 15,000 for the spouse and EUR 10,000 for each minor child: salary, pension, dividends, interest, rent. Proven by a tax return from the country of tax residence or by certificates from an independent certified accountant. The spouse's income counts. For category (A) the income must come from abroad; for (B), (C) and (D) it may partly come from Cyprus.
- Clean record and security
- Police clearance certificates from the country of origin and the country of residence for the applicant and spouse. The applicant must not pose a threat to public order or security.
- Health insurance
- A policy for the applicant and each dependant covering inpatient and outpatient care. Confirmed annually unless the family has joined the national health system, GESY.
- No employment
- The applicant and spouse sign a statement that they will not take up employment in Cyprus, except as directors of the company they invested in. Shareholdings and unpaid directorships in other Cypriot companies are allowed.
- A home in Cyprus
- For categories (B), (C) and (D) you must show accommodation: a title deed, a sale contract with proof of payment, or a rental agreement. For a home purchase (A), if the bedrooms do not suffice for all dependants, an additional property is indicated.
- Documents
- Form MIP2, passports, the title deed or a sale contract filed with the Department of Lands and Surveys, proof of payment and of the remittance from abroad, an affidavit of income, insurance, police certificates, marriage and birth certificates. Everything officially translated and certified; for a child applying without the other parent, that parent's consent signed before a Cypriot consular officer. Indian documents carry an apostille from the Ministry of External Affairs.
