Visa denial is not a verdict!

Friends, in our practice we often come across stories where our clients have been refused a visa. What do our lawyers do? They develop a new strategy and achieve a positive decision.

At the end of 2022 a married couple of pensioners: Vladislav (65 years old) and Olga (63 years old) applied to our agency. The spouses have savings and stable passive income - they rent two apartments and office space, and own securities of several leading companies.

The head of the family has been diagnosed with serious health problems and for the last 7 years he has been annually visiting the thermal resort Balaruc-les-Bains in Occitanie (France). It is impossible to interrupt the course of treatment. Every year the spouses issued a Schengen visa and went for a month and a half for treatment. This time the doctor appointed Vladislav a three-month course of treatment. In September 2022 the spouses as usual applied for a Schengen visa and in 2 weeks received a refusal! What to do? The husband and wife did not want to submit the documents again, risking rejection. They turned to us to find a solution.

We asked a lot of clarifying questions and suggested that Vladislav and Olga apply for a residence permit for FNL (financially independent persons). Especially as the couple had long thought about moving to Europe, but kept postponing this decision.

Our clients fully met the requirements for obtaining a residence permit for FNL:

  1. be adult residents;
  2. be financially independent (at least 18,255 € in the account for each person);
  3. receive a stable income from a legal source not on the territory of France;
  4. take out medical insurance;
  5. buy or rent long-term real estate;
  6. obtain a type D visa issued by the French consulate in the place of residence;

Free movement in Schengen countries.

  • Opportunity to apply for permanent residence (carte de séjour) after 5 years.
  • Access to quality medicine.
  • Residence permit for the whole family (husband/wife, children).
  • No need to speak French.
  • Ability to obtain a European driver's license within the first year after obtaining a residence permit.

Our lawyers are still helping and advising Vladislav and Olga remotely. They are very happy with their new life and new status. Now they can freely travel around Europe, get treatment at the chosen resorts and not worry about whether they will be granted a visa.

If you also want to be confident in the future, do not worry and do not depend on the decision of the consulate or visa center, make an appointment for a consultation with our lawyers. Together we will find the ideal solution that will be 100% suitable for the client.
