Working with Alexander, we were aiming to get Italian residence permit for financially independent persons through the purchase of real estate and investment in business, having discussed all the issues and sent a package of documents for consideration, we were rejected.

The reason was the business in which the finances were invested, the Italian consulate considered that the amount of income per person did not meet the requirements of the state - from €8.000 per adult family member and at least €4.500 per child.

Failure to agree to the issuance of an Italian residence permit

Having hired a private Italian language tutor for the whole family and having their daughter in school, our clients had every reason to approve the application. The main factor for rejection was the government's lack of confidence in Alexander's financial success.

Ways to solve the problem

Based on this situation, we possessed three options to obtain the desired result:

  • Re-apply for an Italian residence permit, which had an unlikely success rate and would have taken a long time.
  • Appeal.
  • Find a country with a Schengen zone, in which it is easier to get a residence permit.

After discussing all possible ways out of the situation, we came to the conclusion that the most appropriate option - to change the country to obtain a residence permit. There was not much time left, having changed the course of business, we began to look for a country in which we could be 100% sure of approval, applying for a residence permit.

What programs were considered?

Starting to consider new Schengen countries, we paid attention to the Austrian program of permanent residence, but the only thing that confused us - distrust of the program, as it was just starting to work, and in our case, the risk was incomprehensible.

Alexander was also interested in purchasing a Cypriot passport through investments, but financially this option did not suit our client.

After talking to Alexander and reviewing several options, we learned that Alexander owns a company in Kaunas, which is located in Lithuania. This was the key point that was the foundation for obtaining a residence permit.

Let's get down to business

After 2.5 months of submitting documents, we received our Lithuanian residence cards. There were no difficulties, the children were studying in Italy, Alexander could easily open an account in an Italian bank, the Lithuanian residence permit became a lifeline for the client.

Result

  1. Alexander and his family were able to live and do business in Italy without any problems
  2. Having a Lithuanian residence permit, study and long-term stay in Schengen countries became realistic.

Important! Employment is possible only in the country where you plan to obtain a residence permit. For business - there are no restrictions in this regard.
