Ruslana S., 29 years old, a translator from Saratov, lived in Israel for several years. After the escalation of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict in May 2021, she returned to Russia. However, no one awaited her back home. Her closest relative, her sister Maria, who had moved with her husband and children to Dominica in 2019, invited Ruslana to join her.
After two months of consideration, Ruslana decided to reach out to us to learn more about the procedure for obtaining citizenship in this Caribbean island country.
According to her sister, she learned that as a close relative, she might be eligible for a passport. The program indeed grants such rights to siblings of the main applicant and their spouse. However, applicants in this category must be unmarried, childless, and under 25. Ruslana did not meet the age requirement and therefore could only apply as an independent investor.
After consulting with her sister, she decided to apply for Dominica’s citizenship program by investing in the country’s National Development Fund.
Case Progress
In August, we signed a cooperation agreement with Ruslana and began work:
- Our lawyer collected all documents confirming the source of her funds.
- We arranged a medical examination to obtain a health certificate.
- We completed the fingerprint form.
- Scanned copies of her passports (domestic and international) and educational diplomas were made.
- All documents were translated into English and notarized in Dominica.
In September, Ruslana paid the due diligence fee, and we submitted her documents for background checks through a local agent in Dominica.
In early November, we received a letter confirming her successful completion of the Government due diligence process.
Ruslana transferred the remaining amount, covering the contribution to the National Development Fund, the cost of the naturalization certificate, and the passport issuance fee.
A licensed agent in Dominica submitted her citizenship application.
Two weeks later, we received a positive response. Based on this, Ruslana took the oath of allegiance. By early December, she collected her passport in person from our Moscow office.
Case Outcome
In just over three and a half months, we helped Ruslana obtain Dominica’s citizenship.
She is thrilled to be able to celebrate the New Year with her loved ones. Moreover, with a Caribbean passport, new opportunities and prospects have opened up for her.
