French Residence Permit for Myself and Daughter

Programmer Alexey and his wife Anna joined us in March 2022. Their daughter studies in Europe and has a visa. Anna envisioned her daughter’s future exclusively in Europe, so their request was as follows:

“We need an easy, quick way to obtain a European residence permit without investment, and ideally, without the requirement to live there permanently.”

Of all the available programs, the only one that fit their needs exactly was France’s program.

French Residence Permit

  • no investment in real estate required;
  • no residency requirement;
  • citizenship can be obtained after seven years.

We proposed the following path for Anna and Alexey: to obtain a residence permit for themselves and their daughter, which, provided all conditions are met, could eventually lead to permanent residency and citizenship.

The French residence permit grants the right to free movement throughout the European Union.

Application Process

Within three weeks, the lawyer gathered all necessary documents:

  • color birth certificates (original with apostille, notarized copy);
  • color copies of passports (international and domestic);
  • education documents (diploma) (notarized copy with apostille);
  • tax clearance certificate (original);
  • proof of property ownership (original);
  • bank statement showing the applicant’s available funds (original);
  • certificate of no criminal record;
  • applications for immigration visas and residence permits;
  • motivational, cover, and legal letters;
  • a written commitment not to engage in employment in France;
  • power of attorney for representation in official French institutions.

Obtaining and activating a “visiteur” visa is the first step toward obtaining a French residence permit through the Foreign Nationals program.

In May 2022, the visa was successfully obtained!
